Pale gold. Lifted aromas of yellow apple, ripe pear and white peach over hazelnut, butter and a fine flinty edge. Medium-bodied with bright acidity, a creamy mid-palate from the lees work and a long, mineral, salty finish. A versatile food wine — perfect with grilled fish, roast chicken, mushroom risotto, soft cheeses or fresh pasta with cream sauce.

Cantina Tramin is one of South Tyrol’s most acclaimed cooperatives — a benchmark for Alpine Italian whites. The ‘Glarea’ Chardonnay is sourced from selected vineyards on Tramin’s Söll and Termeno hillsides at 350–550m above sea level, grown on calcareous gravel soils (Glarea is Latin for ‘gravel’). Hand-harvested, gently pressed and fermented in a mix of stainless steel and large oak casks, with several months on the lees before bottling. A pure, classically styled Alpine Chardonnay.
