Bright, brilliant pale straw with a subtle green hue. Aromatic nose of citrus, white peach, wildflowers and grilled nuts over a delicate mineral spine. The palate is crisp and refreshing with focused stone-fruit and lemon-zest flavours, a saline mid-palate and a clean, dry finish. Excellent as an aperitif or with seafood, salads and roast chicken.
Donkiesbaai Steen 2025
The Donkiesbaai Steen 2023 has a beautiful complexity of aromas reveal themselves on the nose: candied lemon peel, pineapple, honeysuckle, beeswax, cream and shortbread. On the palate, lively acidity carries the fruit, with texture and layers of flavour expanding on the palate. A clean yet mouthwatering finish.
The Steen is made up of three components: 75% is fermented and then matured in a combination of new and seasoned 500l French oak
barrels. 15% is fermented spontaneously and matured on the lees in concrete eggs. Bâtonnage is done monthly for textural mouthfeel.

The Paul Cluver Seven Flags Chardonnay is a great expression of what both Elgin and the the Paul Cluver Estate can produce. Just like its Pinot Noir partner, the Paul Cluver Seven Flags Chardonnay undergoes both vineyard and barrel selection, in a quest by Paul Cluver to create the ultimate expression of the variety. The 2021 vintage shows a light-yellow green hue, and the nose is expressive with notes of fresh citrus zest which is complemented by stone fruit and hints of oak. The palate is an exciting combination of crisp citrus fruit with great complexity, concentration, and hints of oak in the background. The wine is elegant with a long and lingering finish.

Pale straw with green reflections. Open, sea-breezy nose of fresh lemon zest, white peach, green apple and Mediterranean herbs, with a touch of salinity over a chalky-mineral spine. Subtle hints of sandalwood, sappy juniper and blonde tobacco gradually emerge with further time in the glass. The palate is luscious, with silky tannins and linear progression that finish with great presence and length. Deep, near-opaque ruby with violet edge. The nose offers concentrated blackcurrant, dark cherry, blueberry and graphite, with notes of cedar, violet, sweet spice and a fine toasted-oak frame and the classic Margaux perfume of crushed flowers. Full-bodied, structured and polished on the palate, with fine-grained ripe tannins, vibrant Left Bank acidity and a long, persistent, layered finish. Drink 2027–2040.
