The 2020 Banfi Brunello di Montalcino is widely regarded as one of the most expressive and charming recent vintages from the estate. It shows a lifted, aromatic profile with bright red‑fruit tones—cherry, strawberry, raspberry—layered with floral notes, sweet spice and a touch of balsamic. The warmth of the year gives it an open, perfumed nose and a palate that feels generous without losing the freshness that defines good Brunello.

Beyerskloof Traildust Cape Blend 2022
The Traildust is a crafty blend of grapes created for serving chilled during the Summer seasons. The Pinotage, Cinsault and Pinot Noir provide for a generous amount of red fruit, cherries, and plum. A well-balanced wine with a juicy middle, so well-rounded tannins, and a sweet fruit finish. This wine is best served chilled (14°C) and combines well with Moroccan lamb and Thai curries.
Grapes were picked at optimum ripeness. Made in open fermenters, on the skins for 4-6 days at an average temp. of 26°C. Punching of the cap was done every 2 hours to extract good colour and flavours from the grapes. Aer malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine aged in third-fill French oak barrels for 12 months.

A compellingly seductive bouquet offers up a fine blend of aromas of red cherries, pomegranate, delicate forest floor and a hint of spice and new oak. On the palate the wine is sensual and embracing, with a captivating mid-palate depth, lovely transparency and excellent focus on the suavely tannic finish. A wine that seeks to ask questions of one’s palate, promising simultaneously to engage one in reflective conversation and company.

This Pinot expresses bright red fruits aromas with a spicy, cinnamon-like, earthy undertone. It is powerful, yet oddly subtle, ‘old-school’ profile. The palate is focused and perfectly poised, but these delicate qualities are wrapped in a structure with unexpected depth, grandeur, and longevity.

TASTING NOTE: A subtle trace of violets and graphite underpins the bolder aromas of
blue and black fruit.
Similarly, on the palate a subtle spice element tempers the ripe, rich, rounded and juicy
mouthful. A cocoa powder nuance lends the overall palate a Black Forest gateaux vibe
because of the black cherry vibrance. Elegant, cohesive and structured with the oak
supporting the fruit beautifully. Lovely leashed power and restraint followed by a long tail.
